On 22nd July 2025, the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) officially flagged off OPERATION KANO TSAF-TSAF at Kofar-Wambai Bayan Festival with a large-scale waste evacuation exercise aimed at restoring environmental cleanliness and improving public health within the area.
The event was attended by the Executive Chairman of Kano Municipal Local Government, accompanied by members of the Local Government Council, demonstrating the shared commitment of both state and local authorities to advancing environmental sanitation across Kano State.
As part of the exercise, the Managing Director of REMASAB also paid a courtesy visit to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kofar-Wambai Division to strengthen inter-agency collaboration and solicit continued support for environmental sanitation enforcement and community-based initiatives.
The operation recorded significant achievements, including the successful evacuation of accumulated waste, improved environmental cleanliness and aesthetics, and increased public awareness on the importance of proper waste disposal and responsible environmental practices. Furthermore, the engagement with the Nigeria Police Force reinforced institutional collaboration, laying a solid foundation for sustained joint efforts toward maintaining a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment for the people of Kano State.
