On 13th August 2025, the Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil conducted an operational inspection of a special waste evacuation exercise at Gadon Kaya, Layin Gidan Dansarari, following complaints from members of the community regarding the accumulation of waste in the area.

The visit was undertaken to monitor the progress of the ongoing operation, assess field activities, and ensure the effective deployment of personnel and operational equipment for the timely clearance of accumulated refuse. The inspection also provided an opportunity for the Managing Director to evaluate the efficiency of the response and reaffirm the commitment of His Excellency Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf through REMASAB to addressing community sanitation concerns through prompt intervention.

The special operation resulted in the successful evacuation of large volumes of waste, significantly improving environmental sanitation, reducing potential public health and environmental risks, and enhancing the overall cleanliness and aesthetic appearance of the community. The intervention further demonstrated REMASAB’s responsiveness to public concerns and reinforced the Board’s commitment to delivering efficient sanitation services and maintaining a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment across Kano State.

The Managing Director reiterated REMASAB’s resolve to sustain proactive waste management interventions and strengthen community engagement in achieving lasting environmental cleanliness throughout the State.
