On 12th August 2025, the Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil held a strategic meeting with the Chairman and President of the Association of Kano Business Community, Alhaji Sabiu Bako, to explore collaborative approaches to improving waste management and environmental sanitation across major commercial districts in Kano State.
The meeting focused on strengthening stakeholder participation in environmental sanitation, promoting sustainable waste management practices within business communities, and identifying practical strategies for enhancing cleanliness in markets and other commercial hubs. Discussions also emphasized the importance of public-private collaboration in achieving a cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally sustainable Kano State.
The engagement further strengthened the partnership between REMASAB and the Association of Kano Business Community, identified opportunities for joint sanitation initiatives, and reinforced the commitment of the business community to responsible waste management practices. It also laid the foundation for coordinated interventions aimed at improving environmental sanitation, preserving the cleanliness of commercial areas, and supporting the Kano State Government’s vision of a cleaner and more sustainable urban environment.
The Managing Director reaffirmed REMASAB’s commitment to fostering strategic partnerships with key stakeholders to promote environmental stewardship, improve sanitation service delivery, and ensure sustainable waste management across Kano State.
