COMPLETION OF WASTE EVACUATION EXERCISE AT KOFAR WAMBAI BAYAN FESTIVAL

On 1st August 2025, the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) successfully concluded the waste evacuation exercise at Kofar Wambai Bayan Festival under the ongoing Operation Kano Tsaf-Tsaf initiative. The operation marked the final phase of the comprehensive cleanup exercise, involving the complete clearance and evacuation of decades long waste accumulated waste to restore environmental cleanliness and improve sanitation within the area.

The exercise was carried out through the deployment of REMASAB personnel and operational equipment, reaffirming the Board’s commitment to delivering efficient and sustainable waste management services while ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for residents and businesses.

The successful completion of the operation resulted in the total evacuation of accumulated refuse, significant improvement in environmental sanitation and the aesthetic appearance of the area, and a reduction in potential environmental and public health risks associated with indiscriminate waste disposal. The intervention also reinforced public confidence in REMASAB’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability and maintain high standards of cleanliness across Kano State.
