On 6th August 2025, the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) convened a strategic meeting with representatives of Wholesome Environmental Company Ltd and Green Crystal Co. to explore opportunities for collaboration in advancing sustainable waste management and resource recovery initiatives in Kano State.
The meeting focused on key areas of mutual interest, including the development of waste-to-energy projects, potential waste management partnership agreements, feedstock requirements for resource recovery facilities, and investment opportunities within the State’s evolving waste management sector. The discussions underscored the importance of leveraging private sector expertise and investment to drive innovation and improve the efficiency of waste management systems.
The engagement established a strong foundation for future collaboration between REMASAB and the private sector in delivering sustainable waste management solutions. It advanced discussions on converting municipal waste into valuable energy resources, identified critical feedstock and operational requirements for resource recovery projects, explored opportunities for increased private sector participation, and reaffirmed the commitment of the Kano State Government to promoting innovative, environmentally sustainable, and investment-driven approaches to waste management.
