THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF REMASAB STRENGTHENS STAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION DURING WORKING VISIT TO SABON GARI MARKET AXIS

On 18th August 2025, the Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) paid a working visit to the Divisional Police Headquarters along France Road by Sabon Gari Market, Kano, where he engaged with security personnel before holding a strategic meeting with the Managing Director of Sabon Gari Market.

The visit provided an opportunity to assess environmental sanitation challenges within the market axis and to deliberate on practical strategies for improving waste management, enhancing sanitation service delivery, and maintaining a cleaner and healthier commercial environment. Discussions also emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration and stakeholder participation in addressing sanitation issues within one of Kano State’s busiest business districts.

The engagement strengthened collaboration between REMASAB, the Nigeria Police Force, and the management of Sabon Gari Market, reinforcing a shared commitment to improving environmental sanitation within and around the market. It also established a framework for coordinated interventions, enhanced stakeholder ownership of sanitation initiatives, and paved the way for sustained efforts to promote effective waste management, public health, and environmental sustainability across the Sabon Gari commercial corridor.

The Managing Director reaffirmed REMASAB’s commitment to working closely with security agencies, market authorities, and other critical stakeholders to ensure cleaner, safer, and more sustainable commercial environments throughout Kano State.
