On 21st August 2025, the Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) conducted an on-site visit to the Dandago Community following the relocation of the area’s waste collection centre to a new and more suitable location. The visit was undertaken to engage with community members, assess the suitability of the new site, and reaffirm REMASAB’s commitment to addressing residents’ concerns while ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of efficient waste management services.

During the visit, the Managing Director interacted with key community stakeholders and residents, emphasizing the importance of continuous public cooperation in maintaining environmental cleanliness. He reiterated the Board’s commitment to adopting community-responsive approaches that balance effective waste management with the well-being and convenience of host communities.

The engagement strengthened public confidence in REMASAB’s responsiveness to community concerns and facilitated the successful relocation of the waste collection centre to a more acceptable and environmentally appropriate location. It also enhanced stakeholder relations, promoted community participation in environmental sanitation, and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to protecting public health through sustainable and people-centered waste management practices.

The Managing Director reaffirmed REMASAB’s resolve to continue engaging communities across Kano State in developing practical, inclusive, and sustainable solutions that support a cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally sustainable future.
