On 29th August 2025, the Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB), alongside the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change, Dr. Dahir M. Hashim, supervised the disbursement of outstanding allowances to House-to-House Sanitary Inspectors across Kano State, following the approval of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.

The initiative reflects the Kano State Government’s unwavering commitment to staff welfare, public health, and the strengthening of environmental sanitation services. By addressing long-standing welfare concerns, the Government reaffirmed its recognition of the indispensable role played by sanitary inspectors in promoting environmental cleanliness, disease prevention, and effective waste management across communities.

The successful payment of the outstanding allowances significantly boosted staff morale, enhanced the welfare of frontline sanitation personnel, and reinforced the Government’s commitment to supporting the workforce responsible for safeguarding public health. The exercise also demonstrated the administration’s resolve to create an enabling environment for improved service delivery while recognizing the dedication and contributions of environmental sanitation officers throughout the State.

The Managing Director reaffirmed REMASAB’s commitment to working closely with the Kano State Government and the Ministry of Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change to strengthen the environmental sanitation workforce and advance sustainable waste management in line with the vision of a cleaner, healthier, and more resilient Kano State.
