THE MANAGING DIRECTOR OF REMASAB MEETS YEDA REPRESENTATIVES TO STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION ON ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION

On 3rd September 2025, the Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil held a strategic meeting with representatives of Youth Environmental Development Association (YEDA) to discuss key issues relating to waste management and environmental sanitation in Kano State. The engagement formed part of the Board’s ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships with stakeholder organizations in advancing sustainable environmental management.

Discussions centered on identifying areas of mutual collaboration, enhancing public awareness on environmental sanitation, and developing effective strategies for mobilizing communities to adopt responsible waste management practices. Both parties emphasized the importance of stakeholder engagement, community participation, and sustained public education in achieving cleaner and healthier communities.

The meeting further strengthened the partnership between REMASAB and YEDA, identified opportunities for joint advocacy and environmental sanitation campaigns, and reinforced the commitment of both organizations to promoting sustainable waste management practices. It also established a framework for future collaborative initiatives aimed at increasing public awareness, encouraging behavioural change, and supporting the Kano State Government’s vision of a cleaner, healthier, and more environmentally sustainable Kano State.

The Managing Director reaffirmed REMASAB’s commitment to working with development partners, civil society organizations, and community-based institutions to drive environmental awareness, strengthen stakeholder participation, and improve sanitation outcomes across Kano State.
