On 4th September 2025, the Managing Director of the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB) received the Special Adviser to His Excellency on Youth and Sports, Hon. Sani Musa Danja, on a courtesy visit at the Board’s Headquarters to discuss opportunities for strengthening youth participation in environmental sanitation and sustainable waste management initiatives across Kano State.

The meeting focused on exploring practical avenues for engaging young people in waste management activities, environmental sanitation advocacy, and community mobilization campaigns. Discussions highlighted the critical role of youth as agents of positive change and emphasized the importance of leveraging their energy, creativity, and influence to promote responsible waste management practices and environmental stewardship.

The engagement further strengthened collaboration between REMASAB and youth-focused stakeholders, identified opportunities for expanding youth involvement in sanitation and environmental awareness programmes, and established a framework for future advocacy and community outreach initiatives. It also reinforced the shared commitment to empowering young people as active partners in advancing the Kano State Government’s environmental sustainability agenda.

The Managing Director reaffirmed REMASAB’s commitment to building strategic partnerships that encourage youth participation in environmental governance, foster civic responsibility, and contribute to the realization of a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Kano State.
